When I try to select a particular resolution the game reports that there is 'insufficient RAM'.

You are either attempting to select a resolution which is too high for your graphics card, or your drivers have not been installed correctly.

Please download and install the most recent Microsoft-certified drivers available for your card.

Go to the graphics card manufacturers index of links. You may have to reinstall DirectX - read the instructions very carefully.

To disable this memory-check you must download and install the Flying Corps update. Once this has been installed, run add -m to the short-cut icon properties, so that the command reads winfly.exe -m.

My joystick doesn't calibrate correctly.

The joystick calibration routines are extremely sensitive to movement so that the feeling of control can be more accurately reproduced in-game. When the calibration program asks you to move the stick around in all directions you should make several circuits of the box at a very slow, constant rate.

Ensure that your stick has been fully calibrated in Windows and the game. If your stick requires drivers ensure they have been installed correctly. Note that the Microsoft Force Feedback Pro requires Game Device Software 2.0 (or higher) and DirectX 5 (or higher) to funtion.

The plane doesn't fly straight and level when I take my hand off the joystick.

Aircraft in World War One were tail heavy and forward pressure was required on the stick. On our model you will find that the effect is most noticeable at low altitudes and least apparent at high altitudes.

Sometimes the plane doesn't take off even though I pull back on the stick.

You are either not going fast enough, or you are pulling back too hard. Note that if you reach a sufficient speed you shouldn't have to pull back at all. If you pull back too hard the tail digs into the ground and slows the aircraft.
